Member Spotlight: Members Giving Back During COVID-19
Z's Cafe and Catering
Catering Company Rallies to Feed Families

Donors and volunteers are helping  Z's Cafe and Catering  make and deliver 4,000 meals a week to Fort Worth ISD families.

"We're looking at over half a million people that are food insecure or hungry, and we have to do something," said owner Carlo Capua.

With Capua's operation reduced yet food still in the kitchen's stock, he mobilized volunteers to get the food to those who need it.

FWPOA Buying Meals from Local Businesses for Officers

The Fort Worth Police Officers Association has been supporting local businesses by purchasing hundreds of bulk meals daily for police officers in every patrol division.

“We will identify our most vulnerable local restaurants and focus on providing necessary orders to keep them afloat,” according to a letter from Manny R. Ramirez, president of the FWPOA. “The goal of this effort is two-fold: to ensure that our local economy can survive these tumultuous times, and to ensure that our dedicated front-line police officers have at least one good meal as they protect and serve.”


Ambassador Spotlight: Cristal Hernandez
Cristal is the founder and president of Hernandez Grants & Consulting, LLC , a woman- and minority-owned comprehensive service firm committed to serving, not only government and public entities, but also mission-driven organizations in the areas of Grant & Proposal Development, Government & Public Affairs, Advocacy and Strategic Consulting. 

She has a diverse background in working with federal, state and private foundations, identifying funding sources, guiding proposals and securing the resources needed to further organizational strategic goals. As an FWHCC ambassador, Cristal has been doing advocacy work for our chamber.

In North Texas, businesses play a large role in helping to ensure everyone gets counted. On average, Texas will lose $11,610 (per decade) per person that is not counted.
