EMPRESARIO - JANUARY 2019
President's Corner: Fiesta Night
John Hernandez

The Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recently hosted the 36th Annual Fiesta Night at the Rodeo. At this event, we paid  tribute to our Honorary Chairs and Fiesta Night at the Rodeo founders, Mr. Abel Sanchez and Mr. Manuel Lopez.

These two gentlemen had the forethought of starting one of our most treasured FWHCC fundraising events. Mr. Sanchez and Mr. Lopez held the first Fiesta Night at the Rodeo in 1982 as a small fundraiser with 100 attendees. Today, this signature event has grown to over 700 attendees and features a dinner, rodeo and dance with live entertainment. The silent auction at the event benefits the FWHCC Scholarship Program.

We are grateful to Mr. Sanchez and Mr. Lopez for their contribution to the Hispanic community and for bringing diversity to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. We also express our gratitude to those involved in hosting another successful event. Thank you to the Fiesta Night at the Rodeo event chairs, committee, sponsors, attendees and volunteers, as well as the FWHCC Board of Directors and, last but certainly not least, the FWHCC team.
