Brunch & Learn: Women's History Month

The Culture Committee is hosting a

Brunch & Learn educational series

on Tuesday, March 14th at

12 pm EST/9 am PST.

This session will focus on Women's History Month where we will interview our very own, Robin Gonzales. As the head of FWR's Legal department, Robin will review her experience as a woman in law school, a

brief history of women in law, and ending with a Q&A.

All offices will have a catered meal during this time and team members are encouraged to participate.

Invitation to follow.

FWR Yoga Session

Join the Culture Committee on Wednesday, March 8th at 11:30 am EST/8:30 am PST

for a yoga class to celebrate Women's History Month.

Our instructor for this class is Stephanie File. She is based in Huntington Beach, CA where she runs her small business teaching yoga for the past decade.

Aiding all ages on how to find balance in life, Stephanie provides the tools in her classes to shed everyday anxieties physically and mentally. Her classes consist of thoughtful breathwork, meditation, stretching, core strengthening, and Vinyasa.

The class will be held in person at the Costa Mesa office and offered virtually for all other offices. This is a beginner class for all levels of yoga experience.

Invitation to follow.

Technology Tuesdays

Our first Technology Tuesday was held on February 14th when Mitch Tezak covered Excel training designed to make everyday tasks easy and more efficient. He demonstrated the best Excel function way to cross-reference items in a sheet.

On February 28th, Hannah Gamble led training on Outlook tips and tricks to help navigate the platform more quickly and take advantage of some of its immense functionality.

Thank you Mitch and Hannah for hosting our first Technology Tuesday series! Stay tuned for more Technology Tuesday sessions in the future.

Black Broadway Virtual Tour

As part of Black History Month, the Culture Committee hosted a virtual tour to discover the rich musical heritage of U Street—also known as Black Broadway—from jazz to hip hop and punk to go-go.

Our tour guide "walked" us through

the streets and back alleys of U Street, highlighting the landmarks, history makers, and the Jazz and Cultural Renaissance that paved the way for today's Black successes, talents,

and heroes.

Employee Spotlight

Brian Begrowicz

Property Accountant Manager

Office: Kansas City, KS

Work Anniversary: March 23, 2020

1. What is your favorite flower or plant?

I’m not really a plant person, but my wife has a bunch of succulents throughout the house which don’t require a ton of attention so I'll go with those.

2. What bucket list item do you most want to check off your list?

Attending the NCAA basketball final four has always been on my bucket list. Attending while the Indiana Hoosiers were playing in it would be a bonus!

3. If a colleague was to visit your city, what would you recommend they see/visit/try?

Any of the KC BBQ - my favorite is Jackstack.

Anthony Morales

Help Desk Technician

Office: Costa Mesa, CA

Work Anniversary: December 30, 2022

1. What is your favorite flower or plant?

The lotus flower, it’s not only a beautiful aquatic flower, but the symbolic meaning behind it is just as beautiful.

2. If a colleague was to visit your city, what would you recommend they see/visit/try?

I would recommend cruising the PCH and stopping by a turnout lane to watch the sunset. You can never go wrong with a beach sunset!

3. Daylight Savings is March 12th: Do you prefer spring forward (losing an hour, but gaining more sunlight) or falling back (gaining an hour, but it gets darker earlier)?

I prefer springing forward because it will give me more time to do things I enjoy rather than going straight to sleep.
