FY19 Mental Health Block Grant Funds Allocated

Applies To: Mercy Care RBHA
Providers received their fiscal year 2019 Mental Health Block Grant (MHBG) allocations recently.   There have been changes made as to what can be encountered with these funds. Mental Health Block Grant Funds (MHBG) funding can be used for children who are diagnosed with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), adults who are determined to be Seriously Mentally Ill (SMI) and are NTXIX, and for First Episode Psychosis (FEP) work.

MHBG funding for children with SED for those treated for first episode psychosis remains the same. Providers working with NTXIX members determined to have an SMI can now also provide counseling with these funds. Specifically, the following codes for counseling can be encountered for NTXIX adults determined to have an SMI:

90832             90833             90834             90836            90837            90838            90845

90880             90846             90847            90849            90853           H0004           H0004-HR

H0004-HS      H0004-HQ     90875            90876            H0015           H2033

All Mercy Care behavioral health providers should be able to speak to MHBG funding and provide appropriate referrals when necessary for members who meet the aforementioned criteria.
