Applicable to: Mercy Care Complete Care, Mercy Care RBHA, Mercy Care Long Term Care, Mercy Care DD, and Mercy Care DCS CHP
Providers received their Mental Health Block Grant (MHBG) award notifications for fiscal year 2022. MHBG funding may be used for children who are determined to have serious emotional disturbance (SED), Non-Title XIX adults who are determined to be seriously mentally ill (SMI), and for individuals whom have experienced their first episode of psychosis (FEP).
All Mercy Care behavioral health providers should be able to speak to MHBG funding and will be subject to secret shopper calls throughout the grant year. Providers should be knowledgeable of network partners who receive MHBG funding to ensure appropriate referrals for members meeting grant eligibility criteria.
MHBG funds are only to be used for allowable services identified in the AMPM Exhibit 300-2B . Restrictions of MHBG funds and information on eligible populations are outlined within AMPM Policy 320-T1 .
