Easter Brings Sweet Tears of Joy in This Difficult Time
Easter is coming! It is the day of resurrection. Fred Holbrook writes how Easter reminds us that COVID-19 cannot erase the sweet tears of joy that come to God’s people.

PC(USA) Shares Resources for Holy Week
PC(USA)’s Office of Theology and Worship has developed guidelines for online services for Holy Week and Easter 2020, including best practices for live-streaming in Holy Week; simple outlines for online services; creative ideas for the Resurrection of the Lord (Easter Sunday); and musical suggestions in the public domain.
Vice Moderator Nomination Deadline Approaches
The Committee on Nominations is seeking candidates to serve as the 2021 vice moderator of Presbytery of the James. To achieve a balance of men and women Ministers of Word and Sacrament and Ruling Elders serving in this position over time, we are seeking a male Ruling Elder candidate to serve in 2021. Nominate yourself or someone else using the online form. The deadline for nominations is April 17.

State Guidance on Worship Alternatives
On Tuesday, the Office of the Governor shared guidance to help faith communities comply with Executive Order 55. This guidance authorizes alternative religious services, including drive-in or drive-through worship, so long as worship leaders maintain physical distance and number 10 or fewer. Voices of Jubilee New Worshiping Community seeks your help in making or purchasing cloth masks or supplies for Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center (BAJCC) where Voices of Jubilee is located. Three people have tested positive for COVID-19 among the 500 youth and staff. Find patterns, directions, and more detailed information online.   
Apollos Scholarship Application Deadline Extended
Omaha Presbyterian Seminary Foundation is extending the deadline for applications to the Apollos scholarship program. This program supports ministry inquirers and candidates, including those attending Union Presbyterian Seminary. The new deadline is May 1, 2020.
