Share Your Good News with the Presbytery

What good news would you like to share with our presbytery? We welcome your contributions for presbytery communications, including the Current, the Vine, Facebook, and our website. News and photos may be submitted throughout the year to Kelley Hope, communications associate. The Vine, mailed to more than 10,000 congregation members, is the only communication with a specific deadline. The deadline for the next issue, publishing in March, is February 7.

Our Ministry Together

The 2022 Covenant with the Presbytery of the James is an opportunity for you to tell us how you would specifically like to share in the ministries of the presbytery, the synod, and the General Assembly with your financial support. Please send your 2022 Covenant by January 31.

Annual Reports Due February 15

Commission on Ministry requests annual reports from ministers and Christian educators for 2021. In early January, each was sent an email with a form to complete and submit to Franklin Reding. The forms also may be found on the presbytery website. The commission appreciates your cooperation with timely return of these forms.

New Technology Grant Program Coming

The Presbyterian Foundation is creating a new grant program to support technology improvements for small congregations and congregations of color. Grants of up to $5,000 will be available for equipment and training. Applications are expected to be available in spring 2022 and will be publicized on the Foundation’s website.

Into the Church Triumphant

Rev. Everett Albert Hellmuth Jr., honorably retired, entered the Church Triumphant on January 4. He was a former pastor at Pryor Memorial Church. A funeral was held January 13. Prayers of peace to his family.
