Governor Increases Social Gathering Limits
This week, Governor Northam updated Virginia’s Phase Three Executive Order 72, which includes specific practices for worship and social activities at churches.

The update increases limits on social gatherings, including those at churches. Effective April 1, the maximum number of people permitted in a social gathering is 50 for indoor settings and 100 for outdoor settings. This limit does not apply to worship services, only social activities (wedding receptions, for example) that a church may hold.

Recommendations and best practices for cleaning, signage, masks, and physical distancing for worship services have not changed. Churches and individuals attending worship services should continue to follow the guidance for religious services.
March Issue of the Vine Is in the Mail
The latest issue of the Vine is on its way to churches and congregation members. Articles include a summary of the new strategic plan, an update on Public Policy Witness Ministry, and a report about New Hanover Church’s gift to the International Rescue Committee. Get an early view of the issue online.
Where Do We Go From Here
For the final session of the Redeeming the Narrative series, the Black Caucus helps participants explore future actions. In Where Do We Go From Here on April 17, we ask, “What would Jesus say to a society desiring to heal racism?” Statements, books, and awareness campaigns can only do so much to promote racial reconciliation. How can the Church lead the way in our healing? Attend this event to share your thoughts.
Presbytery Churches Respond to Continuing Hunger Crisis

Many POJ churches and ministries are working to share God's abundance with those whose resources are stretched. Read about programs at Brandermill, Three Chopt, and Bott Memorial.
