Ideas for Observing Ash Wednesday and Lent During Continued Pandemic
The 2021 Lenten season will mark one year since the world started changing in response to the global pandemic of COVID-19. With time and experience on our side, this year we are better equipped to observe Lent virtually. For ideas and inspiration, check out the compilation created by the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators for Ash Wednesday (February 17) and Lent.

Health Department Offers Vaccine Town Halls
To encourage citizens in phase 1b (including people aged 65 and above) to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) holds virtual town halls to address citizen concerns and questions. In addition to public town halls, VDH is willing to schedule town halls for organizations such as churches. A recording of a VDH town hall held with WRIC News is available on YouTube. Upcoming virtual public town halls hosted by the YMCA will be held February 8 at 5:30 p.m. and Feb. 17 at 5:00 p.m. Please share these resources with your congregation members. For COVID-19 vaccine information in your local area, visit the website of your local health district.
