Registration Open for 107th Meeting
The 107th stated meeting of Presbytery of the James will occur on Saturday, February 20, via Zoom. Worship includes ordination examinations for two candidates, installation of the 2021 moderator and vice moderator, and celebrations of the life and ministry of two churches.
Clerks or ministers must provide the name(s) of the church's commissioner(s) elected by the session to represent the congregation. Email this information to Barbara Espigh.
All participants (ministers, commissioned ruling elders, certified Christian educators, commissioners, and guests) must register by 9 a.m. on Friday, February 19.
Find the agenda and reports, as well as the registration form, on the presbytery website.
The annual review of session records is underway. Each church has been assigned a reader who will review the church’s session minutes. Clerks must send a copy of the minutes to their assigned reader by March 1. For questions about this process, contact Franklin Reding. Find guidance in the Session section of Forms and Documents on the presbytery website.
Union Presbyterian Seminary offers a virtual conference this month to equip and inspire church and ministry leaders to enact social justice within their own ministry context and sphere of influence. The two-day event starts February 24. Register by February 7 to save $25 on the full event or $10 on individual workshops.
Stepping out in faith that travel and service will be possible in August, the Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) program of the Presbyterian Church is seeking applicants for the 2021-22 year. The deadline to apply is March 1. POJ’s World Mission Ministry offers scholarship funds to assist church members in the presbytery with the costs of participating in this year of service.
