Presbytery Enjoys Generous Fellowship at Westminster Charlottesville
Westminster Church in Charlottesville extended warm and generous hospitality to presbytery ministers, commissioners, guests, and staff on February 15. We appreciate their contribution to another successful meeting.

We also recognize and thank Rev. Diane Prevary for her service to the presbytery upon conclusion of her term as moderator. At the meeting, Diane passed the torch to Certified Christian Educator Leigh Anne Ring. Rev. Patrick Dennis (Tuckahoe) was installed as vice moderator.
SDOP Awards Grant to Basketball Outreach
At the presbytery meeting, POJ’s Self-Development of People Ministry announced their 2019 grant recipient, RVA League for Safer Streets. Founded by two men who were previously incarcerated, the organization uses basketball to attract young men away from neighborhood conflict. In addition, it provides life-skills training so players will have opportunities for success off the court. SDOP Ministry awarded the group a $7,000 grant to help it continue and expand its reach.

Honor Lent by Giving to One Great Hour of Sharing
Gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS), typically received duri ng the season of Lent, share God’s love with our neighbors in need around the world.

OGHS supports efforts to relieve hunger through the Presbyterian Hunger Program, assist in areas of disaster through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, and promote development and opportunity for poor, oppressed, and disad vantaged people through the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People.

Send your gift to POJ using the 2020 remittance form to designate the funds to a specific ministry. Choose POJ's Hunger, Disaster Relief, and SDOP ministries to keep 100 percent of funds local. S hare your gift between POJ and worldwide needs by designating one or more of the PC(USA) ministries mentioned above.
