Disaster Relief Team Returning to North Carolina in June
POJ’s  Disaster Relief Ministry  is organizing a return trip to New Bern, North Carolina in early June to continue aiding the area in recovering from Hurricane Florence. Volunteers of all skill levels are desired.

The trip is June 1-8. The group will leave from  Southminster Church , which is providing logistics and accounting support. In North Carolina, the team will stay at  West New Bern Presbyterian Church .

Here's how you can help:

c) Make a contribution to the Disaster Relief Ministry. Send your contribution to POJ or Southminster Church.
Happy 250th Anniversary, Cove
Cove Presbyterian celebrates its 250th anniversary this weekend. On May 3 at 7 p.m., renowned church musician Alice Parker shares an evening of music and a hymn sing. The festivities continue Sunday at 11 a.m. with a visit by the First Baptist Church choir and bagpipes by POJ's Fred Holbrook. Come hungry because there will be a catered feast after.

Amelia Exceeds Giving Goal
Pastor Jeremy Cannada challenged  Amelia Presbyterian  to raise $1,000 for POJ's Hunger Ministry after hearing contributions across the presbytery had declined in recent years. Retreat: Lies, Loss & Lament

On July 25, experience Lies, Loss & Lament, a retreat focused on Jeremiah and Lamentations. Led by Pastor Kerra English of Ashland Presbyterian Church with support by Rabbi Patrick Beaulier of Kehillah, the retreat is part of the "Shared Texts, Shared Faith" series that explores Jewish and Christian texts to help participants gain new perspectives and fall in love with the Bible again . Event includes full-day retreat at Richmond Hill, lunch, and digital ministry kit with "Lies, Loss & Lament" educational materials and sermon prep for your congregation.
Chorus for Those with Alzheimer's Hosts Concert at Salisbury

Joyful Voices, a community chorus for singers with Alzheimer’s or Dementia and their caregivers, invites you to their first spring concert on May 2 at 10:30 a.m. The group formed in September 2018 and is a ministry of Salisbury Church in Midlothian.
