There are a few spots that just opened up in our Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) Course, taking place at the Long Island Marriott from June 2-4, 2016.
These last spots will be given to the first people to get their completed registration and payment in to our office.
Two live alcohol workshops will be conducted so the participants will be able to administer the SFSTs, as well as observe true physical manifestations (bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, etc.) on volunteers with BACs from 0.00 to 0.15. Students will also be shown how nystagmus can be induced on a person with a low BAC during the HGN test when administered incorrectly and not to NHTSA guidelines.
This course will be conducted by Anthony Palacios. Anthony is a former SFST State Coordinator for the State of Georgia and a former SFST/DRE Staff Instructor for the Georgia Police Academy at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Anthony is a former International Association Chiefs of Police certified DRE Practitioner, DRE Instructor, and DRE Train the Trainer, as well as a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration SFST Practitioner, SFST Instructor, and SFST Train the Trainer. While in law enforcement, Anthony trained approximately 3,000 City, County, State, and Federal law enforcement officers and prosecutors in the detection of drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
I will serve the role of trial technique instructor.
The cost for this three day program is $750. The number of registrants for this course is strictly limited due to the nature of the hands on teaching approach.
