At a called meeting on August 7, Presbytery of the James approved four candidates for ordination as ministers of Word and Sacrament.

  • Alexander Fischer was ordained by Coastal Carolina Presbytery and has begun to serve as resident pastor at Richmond Second. He will lead the Ukirk Ministry at Virginia Commonwealth University.

  • Candidate David Frost, of Presbytery of the James, will serve Swift Creek Church. His ordination and installation is scheduled for Saturday, September 22 at 4:00 p.m.

  • Sandra Goehring, a candidate from Northern Plains Presbytery, was approved for ordination as pastor of Louisa Church.

  • Lauren Voyles, of East Tennessee Presbytery, was examined for ordination to serve as a second year chaplain resident at Mary Washington Hospital.

Congratulations and blessings to you each and to the teaching and ruling elders, family, and friends who supported your examination process.

Hawkins, director of the Presbyterian Office of Public Witness, will headline a convocation on the evening Friday, October 12.
