Electric Avenue Concert on the Town Green: Face masks and social distancing were in place during the city's first concert held July 25. Reservations were required as only 500 seats were available to ensure social distancing for everyone. The lawn was sectioned off to allow for groups of 6, 4 and 2. Face masks were required when not sitting, standing -- or dancing in your designated spot. Texas Flood will be performing Aug. 29. Watch for reservation details on the City Calendar to be posted in mid-August.

City's Economic Development Climate Remains Strong
Since March, all our lives have been turned upside down. From the state’s mandated shelter-in-place to businesses and schools being forced to close – we are operating in a completely different environment and trying to cope in our new COVID-19 dominated world.
Despite the current health crisis, the city’s economic development is still strong. CarMax, which had opened a Customer Experience Center just last year bringing 300 new jobs to our city, recently announced it was expanding its center and adding over 200 new positions. Additionally, Soliant Health, a health care job and staffing business, will be moving into the former Career Builder building later this year and bringing 400 employees. Read More

City Council Passes Resolution Urging Everyone Wear Face Masks
On Thursday, July 23, during a Special Called Meeting, the Peachtree Corners City Council unanimously passed a resolution urging residents to wear a face mask or face covering when visiting public places, such as retail shops, grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants and other venues where people cannot practice or maintain social distancing. As an extra reminder that each of us can help reduce the spread of the coronavirus, the mayor and council have introduced a “Stay Healthy” campaign to remind and encourage its residents and all in the business community to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 safety guidelines. CarMax Hiring 200+ for its Customer Experience Center
Just a year ago city leaders celebrated the grand opening of CarMax’s first free-standing Customer Experience Center at its new Peachtree Corners offices bringing 300 new jobs. In July the Fortune 500 company announced it is adding 230 additional jobs to the Peachtree Corners facility. Read More

Annual Festival Canceled
On July 24, the organizers of the annual Peachtree Corners Festival announced the festival was canceled for 2020. Following is the statement which has been posted on the festival's website:

The Gwinnett County Health Department gathers data on coronavirus cases and creates a weekly report with information on confirmed cases and deaths, cases and deaths by race, age and other criteria.

Order PTC T-Shirts, Face Masks and more Online
Did you know the city has an online store where you can purchase items with the city's name included such as T-shirts, coffee mugs, etc. Other designs with the PTC name are also available. The city has just added face masks. The masks are royal blue with the city's logo.
You can find the details on the city's website - locate the "Residents" tab then in the pull-down menu select "City Online Store" to view items and place your order.
Purchases must be made online. You will be notified when the items are ready for pick up at city hall. No walk-in purchases available. Here is the direct link:

Councilmember Among Moxie Awards Finalists
Since 2018, the Gwinnett Chamber has recognized female leaders and organizations that have shown support in the advancement of women in the community and in business in its annual Moxie Awards. Enroll in Coding Boot Camps
The first computer coding boot camps were so popular, Curiosity Lab (formerly Prototype Prime) is again collaborating with Georgia Tech to offer additional classes.
