Face and Neck
Cupping

The skin is our largest organ. It is our contact with the outside world, and it conveys information about our overall state of health. The appearance of our face forms the first impression that is imprinted in other people's minds, and good qi circulation provides the face with attractive personal energy.

Cupping therapy directly stimulates the skin, but also reflexively the internal organ systems, blood flow, lymphatic flow, and nerve conduction. This causes the skin to glow brightly and appear more youthful. This and facial massage are far more effective beauty treatments than most creams and cosmetics.

Soft silicone cups can be used over the face and neck to improve the condition of the tissue in these areas, and using the cups with specific acupressure points and gliding techniques can reduce swelling, lines, and wrinkles. It can even out the complexion, reducing pigmentation changes and acne, and we can improve the muscle tone and elasticity of the face and neck with improved blood and lymph flow. Unlike traditional cupping of the back or painful areas, no bruising happens with facial cupping therapy. The softness of the silicone cups feels great along the face and neck and are safe and hygienic.

The neck is another area that benefits greatly from massage and cupping. It is the busiest traffic site in the body. It is a channel of qi energy of the organs, the passageway for air and food, and the location of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. These glands regulate the body's metabolism, among other functions. All of our emotions pass through the neck; when we are under stress and emotional strain, the neck muscles unconsciously tighten, attempting to block out pain.  This produces something like a traffic bottleneck in the area, and  as tension in the neck accumulates, it interferes with the free flow of qi to all organs, the brain, and the face. Keeping the neck soft will help qi flow to the brain, which keeps the mind and body in harmony. It also helps keep the facial muscles supple, the complexion radiant, and skin tone smooth.

Cupping is a healing modality used by acupuncturists, massage therapists, and physical therapists that is a hybrid of therapeutic massage and acupuncture. There is also a detoxification component, as it stimulates the lymphatic system to circulate and remove cellular debris and proteins that obstruct flow and can causing swelling. It improves the appearance of the skin, reduces tension in the jaw, neck, and facial muscles, and feels amazing. It is my favorite service to offer others, and I make sure to receive cupping several times per month as well. The difference is noted immediately. The best part is that it feels like a luxury spa experience but has holistic healing benefit to the entire person: mind, body, and spirit.
