DC Chamber Member Facebook Announced a $40 Million Small Business Grant Program with $800,000 in grants for Washington, D.C.
Facebook Small Business Grant application is now live and will be open for 2 weeks. Information on the grants and criteria are below.
Facebook states “We’ve heard loud and clear that a little financial support goes a long way, especially in communities like the Washington D.C. area that have been hard-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. For many small businesses, this can make a big difference, and that’s why we’re announcing a $40 million grant program specifically for small businesses in the United States that will help business owners across the country. We’re also placing a special emphasis on outreach to and investment in eligible minority and women-owned businesses due to the disproportionate negative impact that COVID-19 will have on these businesses, their employees, and the communities that they serve.”

Starting today - businesses can go to facebook.com/grantsforbusiness , to see whether they are eligible, and for more details about the program.

Facebook will be distributing $800,000 to businesses right here in Washington D.C.’s own backyard, focusing where Facebook have offices and data centers.

The  Facebook Small Business Grants Program  will provide cash grants and ad credits to help:
  • Keep a workforce strong
  • Manage rent costs
  • Connect with more customers
  • Cover operational costs

To be eligible to apply, businesses must be located in or near Washington D.C. and should meet the following additional criteria:

  • Have between 2 and 50 employees
  • Have been in business for at least one year
  • Have experienced challenges from COVID-19
  • Be in or near a Facebook location

Small businesses — the people they hire and the products and services they provide — are the backbone of our economy. That’s true during the best of times, and even more so during these challenging times. To learn more about this program and our other efforts to support small businesses, please see a post  from our COO Sheryl Sandberg.

That’s why we are committed to supporting Washington D.C. businesses that are a part of our communities.

Applications are live as of April 22. We’re proud to partner with Ureeka to administer our application process - a technology platform that connects entrepreneurs to the community and capital they need to grow and scale.  Learn more  here.
