Friends of the Library News
Have you heard the news? The Friends of the St. Peter Library has been selected as the beneficiary of the @HyVee Reusable Bag Program that supports local non-profits! Each time a $2.50 red "My Heart" Reusable Bag is purchased at the Saint Peter Hy-Vee during the month of February we will receive a $1 donation to support our library. Perfect for I Love to READ Month!

The Friends will have bags available for sale at the library as well as the store - proceeds benefit the library either way!

Join the Winter Reading Program!
All ages
How many pages can we read this winter? Two programs to choose from (Kids or Teens/Adults). Participants will track how many pages they read within 120 days. Unlock online games and fun as you read. Prizes at the end of the program for all participants! Dec. - Mar.
Snowman Contest
If the snow ever decides to cooperate, we are in the midst of our SNOWPERSON contest!

Enter pics of your snow creations to lib@saintpetermn.gov
to be eligible for fun prizes!
Teen Art Contest

We are looking for submissions of book-inspired art pieces that we can display in our Young Adult area. Applicants 12 to 18 years old will imagine, design, and create one item such as a sculpture, painting, framed drawing, or other artistic creation that reflects a favorite book, story, character, or author. Photographs of submissions can be sent to lib@saintpetermn.gov and are due by Monday, March 1, 2021.
The library has a limited amount of canvas and paint sets available for free for youth who wish to use that medium.
VolunTeens is back! Youth in grades 6th through 12th can apply to be a library volunteer. We won't be meeting as a group just yet, but are accepting applications to get you started with volunteer hours and special projects. From writing book and media reviews to planning and promoting teen activities, we can use your ideas! Drop by the library for an application or email leticias@saintpetermn.gov.

Breakout Box Challenge
Elementary Age and families
The cat is without his hat, whatever will he do? He is looking for help, HEY! He’s looking at you!
In 45 minutes, he needs to catch a ride on his balloon, his hat must be found before this afternoon!
So solve these puzzles, and open this box. His hat must be inside under all these locks!

This breakout box challenge is designed for grades 3-4.
Families with younger kids may also try this with adult
helpers. This pandemic friendly activity is only for one
family at a time to ensure safe distancing.
