Haiqing Lin Honored with 2022 SUNY Chancellor's Award

Professor Haiqing Lin received the SUNY award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities for his work in the field of membrane separation science and technology. The award recognizes those who excel in scholarly and creative pursuits beyond their teaching responsibilities.

Associate Professor Ashlee N. Ford Versypt was selected for the 2022 David Himmelblau Award

The AIChE selected her for Innovations in Computer-Based Chemical Engineering Education. She was also named a 2021 Influential Researcher by Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, an American Chemical Society publication.

Sriram Neelamegham Has Been Named UB Distinguished Professor

He has made pioneering contributions in studies that describe the molecular mechanisms by which white blood cells and platelets interact with other vascular cells in the context of inflammatory disease. He is a fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering and the Biomedical Engineering Society.

Eleni Kyriakidou received the UB Exceptional Scholars: Young Investigator Award

Assistant Professor Kyriakidou’s research program focuses on catalysis of carbon-hydrogen bond activation and related emissions reduction technologies for controlling vehicle emissions. She was also was awarded the UB SEAS Early Career Researcher Award for 2022. 


Carbon Dioxide Capture Research Earned Miao Yu the AIChE Neil Yeoman Award

Professor Miao Yu received the award for his outstanding contributions to solving energy and environmental problems using nanoporous materials.

New research from the Sriram Neelamegham lab group highlights the role of molecules called N-glycans in SARS-CoV-2 infectivity — and as potential drug targets.


UB is Creating a $4.5 million Plastics Recycling Research Center

SUNY Distinguished Professor Amit Goyal has been named Director. The Center will expand on UB's partnership with the DEC focusing on reducing plastic waste, improving the environment and fighting climate change.

PhD Candidate Nika Rajabian Honored with UB Excellence Award

Under the advisement of SUNY Distinguished Professor Stelios Andreadis, she has been studying the metabolic reprogramming that takes place during skeletal muscle aging and strategies for reversing the hallmarks of cellular senescence and restoring the function of aged muscle.

The award from the American Oil Chemists Society’s (AOCS) Surfactants and Detergents division recognizes an individual who has made a significant advancement, cumulative advancements, or application of surfactant chemistry principles.
