|
Friday, September 8, 8:00am-4:00pm
The Equity Leaders Orientation (ELO) is an introductory learning experience focused on exploring individual mindsets and institutional factors that promote and sustain racial inequities in higher education and other systems. Facilitators, Dr. Martha Ramos Duffer and Dr. Mark Gooden will help guide the group through interactive and reflective activities designed to help participants begin questioning behaviors, policies, and practices that unconsciously hinder success for historically underserved racial groups. Participants will be oriented and introduced to key concepts, language, and practices needed to begin engaging culturally conscious and inclusive approaches to improve the climate for greater enrollment, retention and completion rates for underserved groups.
