CU Lifelong Learning Initiative Launch

Over the course of the past few months, the Academic Affairs Team, now the Lifelong Learning Team, worked to create a framework for what lifelong learning at college unbound should be...

The special edition newsletter linked below provides context for understanding our aspirations and activities as we advance a culture of lifelong learning at College Unbound.

See the Special Edition Newsletter here.

End-of-Semester Reminders

End of semester 1-1s with Students

Be sure to start scheduling your 1-1s for the end of the semester!

Update students this week about where they are at in the course and if there is any missing work they still need to complete.

Moodle Gradebooks

Official grades must be entered in Campus Cafe by midnight on December 21.

All Faculty Please complete your Reflection on Practice by December 21, 2023.

The gradebook only reflects entered grades. This means if a student has submitted a few assignments but missed most of the other assignments; their actual grade will not be reflected in the gradebook until 0s are put in.

To reflect actual grades, faculty must put in 0s for missing work. Notify students in advance of updating your gradebook with 0s and be sure to indicate if you will accept late assignments in the feedback with the 0.

Wanna make sure you've got everything graded in the course? Check out the GradeMe feature in Moodle (2:26 minutes)!

End of Semester Narratives & Entering Final Grades

Review the Grade & Narrative Evaluation Submission Guidelines here for guidance on:

  • Posting end of semester narratives for students in Moodle
  • Entering final official grades in Campus Cafe
  • note: grades are calculated in Moodle and final official grades are entered in Campus Cafe
  • Submitting Incomplete (“I”) grades for students

Please contact Karen Casper if you have any questions.

Final Evaluations

Towards the end of this week and beginning of next week, don’t forget to nudge students to complete the course evaluations. The link is also in the final week of your course.

Diversity And Inclusion Professionals (DAIP)

https://www.daip.us/event/unfiltered-coffee-chat-virtual-3/

Connect with others and share your lived experiences, with a focus on topics related to employee well-being and performance this time of year, such as:

  • A new approach to performance reviews that decouples merit from value
  • Strategies for effectively managing holiday fatigue
  • Radical self care–what does it look like for you?

Facilitators will create a safe space for vulnerable, transparent conversations, and offer valuable insights on how to thrive personally and professionally during this busy season. Whether you’re looking for ways to excel in your performance review or seeking balance and well-being, this talk has something for everyone.

Sincerely,
