New Lab Faculty Spotlight

LaSheena Riley-Duval - Instructional Staff/Lab Faculty

LaSheena Riley-Duval, MSW, LSW, CCM, is a licensed social worker with more than 15 years of experience working in a variety of settings within diverse communities. LaSheena’s career started as a case manager working with children, youth, and families victimized by sexual abuse. Additionally, she has worked extensively with adolescents and families in areas of behavioral health, parenting, and life skills training.

LaSheena originates from Philadelphia, born and raised. She is a product of the School District of Philadelphia and a true South Philly GIrl! LaSheena, as long as she can remember, has always had a passion for helping people. Her original desire to be a nurse did not come to fruition, but she quickly found her footing in social work.

Reminder for Capstone Students

If students are still working with the registrar to determine their eligibility for enrollment in Capstone for the Session 2 of the Spring 2024 Semester (March 18 - May 10, 2024), students must submit all LIP Portfolios and at least 5 complete Big10 Submissions before March 10, 2024. If all criteria are met, the registrar or provost's office will contact students with next steps. If faculty have any pending Big 10s or LIPs to review, please complete those reviews as soon as possible.

See the message sent to students on this information here.

ACTION: Your voice is needed to revise the Big10

Last week we began the process of getting CU Student and Alumni input on revisions to CU’s Big10 Competencies. We need faculty input as well! Our goal is to revise the Big10 to represent our specific CU view of leadership and change competencies more clearly.

Look out in your email for a survey to help re-imagine the Big10 Leadership and Change competencies! You can also access the survey here! Please also remind your students to complete this survey. Student input is vital!

CU UPDATES

Graduating Student Final Exhibitions

Mark your calendars for exhibition week: Tuesday, 5/7/24, and/or Wednesday, 5/8/24! Our graduating students will be sharing their final exhibitions in a new format that includes their graduating speech with a concluding final project exhibition. Students will be getting this information in the first week of Spring session 2 (3/18/24).

You can review guidelines for graduating student final exhibitions here.

Nominate CU Student Stories

As part of CU's pilot method of collecting student stories, we invite you to nominate students to work with CU's Institutional Storyteller on developing and recording their own stories. Learn more about this pilot and our Institutional Storyteller here. Students can complete this form, or faculty can nominate a student to get started.
