Faerie Tale... Magic Awaits

Snow White, Cinderella and their Princes are traveling through the woods on a magical night. They find themselves amid a fairy preparation for the wedding of Oberon and Titania, King and Queen of the fairies. An errant donkey carrying gifts for the couple wanders into the woods to rest.

Between these unlikely groups flies Puck, armed only with a wicked sense of humor and a love potion capable of making anyone fall for the first person they set eyes upon.

What could possibly go wrong?

Faerie Tale is Springfield Ballet Company's enchanting ballet set to the music of Felix Mendelssohn, Pytor Tchaikovsky and Riccardo Drigo.

Join us April 14 and 15, 2018, at 2:00 pm, at Sangamon Auditorium!

Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program and SBC Training Academy Conclude 2017-2018 Season with Recital

The Springfield Ballet Company's Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program and SBC Training Academy concluded their 2017-2018 seasons with a recital performance on Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.

Boys & Girls Clubs dancers performed a classical ballet piece, as well as a contemporary jazz dance; and Training Academy dancers performed a ballet selection, as well as excerpts from SBC's Faerie Tale.

Honors, recognitions and a reception were held immediately following the recital.

Special thanks to:  Rotary Club of Springfield Sunrise and American Business Club of Springfield for sponsoring the Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program; Hoogland Center for the Arts for our beautiful performance venue; Nick & Beth Faulkner from Baskin Robbins for providing our dancers with ice cream cone vouchers; Mindy Vance and Eric Streb for photography; Seth Wheeler for lighting design and sound; Boys & Girls Clubs Executive Director Bill Legge for supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach program; Mr. Silas at the Boys & Girls Clubs for helping coordinate so many aspects of our program this year;  and all of our families, friends and fans for making this evening so very special!

Congratulations to all our performers!

An Evening in Paris, SBC's Tutu Ball a Great Success!

The Springfield Ballet Company recently held  its annual gala and fundraiser, The Tutu Ball, at Illini Country Club.

Springfield Ballet Company dancers performed a piece inspired by "An Evening in Paris," choreographed by SBC Artistic Director Julie Ratz. Guests also enjoyed music provided by the Sangamon Valley Youth Symphony String Duet, as well as after-dinner dancing to the music of Frank Parker.

This year's Fund-A-Project helped raise funds needed for the creation of 20 new tutus for the Snow Scene in SBC's annual production of The Nutcracker, as well as four new Seasons tutus for our upcoming production of Faerie Tale.

Thank you for supporting the Springfield Ballet Company!
