And just like that, our voyage draws to a close. They say the best harbors are the ones that make you wish you could stay forever — and if this week at the 2026 NCA National Specialty has felt that way to you, then we've done our job.
From the rumbling wheels of the Draft Tests and laughs at the Working Team Relay, to the tenderness of the Living Legends and Rescue Activites… from the sparkle of the Seaside Top 20/10 Soirée to the heartwarming sight of our Junior handlers stepping into the ring with pride — this week has been everything a National Specialty should be. And it was made that way entirely by you.
Thank you.
Thank you to our competitors, our exhibitors, our volunteers, our vendors, and every person who traveled near and far to be part of this celebration of the most extraordinary breed in the world. Thank you to the working dog enthusiasts, the health advocates, the breeders, the rescue heroes, and the devoted pet owners who make up the fabric of this community. You are the reason we do this.
As you load up your Newfs, hug your friends one last time, and point your compass toward home, carry with you the friendships deepened, the memories made, and the quiet pride of belonging to something truly wonderful. The Newfoundland Club of America is not just an organization — it is a community of people who love deeply, give generously, and show up for one another. And that is something worth sailing across the country for.
Fair winds and following seas to each and every one of you. Travel safely. Love your Newfs fiercely. And we will see you back at the dock — sooner than you think.
