Demand Housing Providers On The Rent Board That We Pay For

Pasadena's Rental Housing Board is primarily made up of anti-landlord activists who have never balanced a budget or run a business. We pay a fee of $215 per rental property per year so these extremists can spend their time dreaming up new ways to destroy the businesses we have built. Sometimes they insult members of the public who dare to question the Chair's dubious competence. Sometime the Chair poses as a private citizen to insult landlords and spread falsehoods.

Two at-Large positions are reaching the end of their first terms in office and both seats are currently held by anti-landlord activists. As Measure H clearly mandates, there are seven tenant positions and only four at-large posts. We are outnumbered even if the City Council acts fairly.

Prior to the City Council meeting on Monday, May 19, council members will be choosing candidates. To add vital expertise to the Board and to have fair representation, we must have true housing providers appointed to those two positions by the City Council. We pay all the bills, remember?

Please email City Council members to let them know that it is unreasonable to appoint tenant activists to positions that should be held by housing providers like landlords, property managers, or realtors. If you live in Pasadena you can find your Council member's contact details here. Alternatively, you can click here to email the whole Council.

Pasadena Housing Providers will continue to insist that the Board explains its spending, publishes a realistic budget, and accounts for the $425,000 failed no-bid consulting project.
