From FAL's President

Dear Members,

We have enjoyed so many fun activities this year! This year has included live artist demonstrations and workshops, Plein Air painting at Blenheim, Food Wine and Arts Festival with DC Fray, exhibitions throughout the City of Fairfax, art receptions, our Kids Create program, and our Art & Lunch. We have found many wonderful ways to connect with the community and enjoy art together!

Many thanks to everyone who has given their time and energy to planning, volunteering and being there for the Fairfax Art League.

We appreciate you! Have a Happy New Year!

Sincerely, Amanda Fletchersmith

Eric Westbrook Workshop: Figure Drawing, December 2

Thanks to FAL artist Patricia Giovannoni's efforts, distinguished fine artist and illustrator Eric Westbrook will be FAL's guest presenter for the next art workshop on figure drawing on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 2pm to 4pm at Green Acres Center.

RSVP early- one on one direction is limited to 10 spaces, independent drawing and spectator space is available.

From the artist: "In this workshop we will practice drawing the human form with accuracy and expressiveness," says Westbrook. "Students will learn techniques to translate the model’s proportions and pose onto paper, emphasizing the underlying structure as well as the details of the figure. The class will be in-person, with a model. All experience levels welcome.” (Photo used with permission.)
