Hello dear readers,
It is hot! Hope you are enjoying family, the beach or other fun outings, and the extended hours of sunshine. And Happy Independence Day!
We held a couple of workshops in June that were well attended; make sure to catch one in the near future and expand your skills.
As you know by now, we entered into a partnership with a shop in downtown Fairfax, Pair O' Dice, and already there have been some sales! Nancy Patrick and Julia Fouser both sold paintings there. Make sure to stop by and tell others about it!

June Highlights at the Fairfax Art League
June was a vibrant month for FAL, marked by two well attended workshops: the "Beginners Pastels" class with Karina Mossier, and the "Intro to Drawing" with Brando Gould. We're delighted to see such strong engagement from our members and community.
We are also pleased to announce several leadership updates. Julia Fouser has joined the Board as our new Vice President. In addition, Pelin Guney has been appointed Assistant Curator at City Hall, and Carol Bourjelly is now serving as Assistant Curator at The Virginian. Please join us in welcoming and congratulating our new team members as they step into these important roles.

ArtsFairfax is dedicated to expanding support for and access to arts and culture opportunities for all of Fairfax County.
We welcome event or opportunity submissions from both individual artists or arts organizations across all disciplines, including film, literature, visual, and performing arts.
You are encouraged to share your events and activities with us for consideration in our newsletters if you fit one of the following criteria:
- Artist or arts organizations that reside, work, and/or have a studio in Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, or the City of Falls Church
- Artist or arts organization presenting work in Fairfax and/or surrounding region
- Organization programming arts-related activities or events in Fairfax and/or surrounding region.

Be involved, join the team!
Part of the membership responsibilities is to serve a certain number of volunteer hours. The better we are 'staffed', the more opportunities to be seen in the community through added events and venues. The more we are seen, the greater opportunities to experience community and for sales.
We are looking for members who would like to contribute their creativity, skills, and passion for the arts in several roles, like the ones listed below.
We are especially looking for members who can
- Support with event promotions and community partnerships
- Photograph or video gallery events
No professional experience is required, just enthusiasm, commitment, and a desire to help the League grow.

Promote your own artist page on the
FAL Online Members' Gallery and Website
As a member of the Fairfax Art League, you can have your own artist page on the FAL website. To get your FAL artist page set up, please email the following to Rahul Bardhan at rbardhan@yahoo.com
- Up to six representative photos of your artwork,
- Artist statement and or artist bio,
- Your photo so that he can create your artist page.
You can find the member artists' gallery at this site:

Besides being accessible from the FAL website, the artist page will also have a direct link that you can share elsewhere.
