Dear Fairfax Recreation Camp Families,
We hope this finds you and your loved ones in good health with increased gratitude and patience for our mandatory family time. To date, we are all healthy, staggering our work hours, talking often about a new normal and communicating with our peers around the county to develop standardized practices that will keep us safe moving forward.
Obviously, as we move into summer our camp environment will be different in many ways. We are confident about working together to provide a quality camp experience while keeping everyone safe. While we still do not have a specific date for our facilities to open, we do know that we can offer small sized camp childcare options to help support families.
This summer we have returning and seasoned counselors, Finleigh Levinson and Jasper Yallop, who will lead us. We will be able to accept a maximum of 10-12 campers each week and will divide them in 2 groups—though the full group will gather together periodically. We will have access to the many outdoor open spaces around town and our large Pavilion space to help keep good distance while also having engaging activities. We have been working to formulate our new health procedures and want you to be apprised of what our new normal might look like. And, of course, protocols may change based on our directives from county health officials.
Please read under our
Camp Fairfax FAQ
about some of the changes we are discussing and considering for this summer.
A big THANK YOU to all who are willing and able to support us and to those who have already signed up for our camps. As of now, it looks like we will get periodical updates from the county and we will update our website to reflect those directives. Please take good care!
