CHAMBER SNAPSHOT - May 29, 2024

Thank you to Kirsch CPA Group for hosting our Business After Hours last week. Their philosophy and practices makes them one of the best places to work in the region. We had a good turnout and hope you can join us for our next networking in June.

See below for invitations to TWO ribbon cuttings later this week. It is always my great joy to celebrate with our members.

If you are going to Groovin' on the Green on Thursday night, be sure to stop by the tent for the BRAVE group. We'll have beads to make bracelets!

Have a great week!

Peggy

We are thrilled to mark 60 years in business and the grand opening of our new expansion. This beloved local bar, which first opened its doors in 1964, has recently grown to include new pool tables and more, enhancing the experience for our valued patrons.

The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will be joining owners Deania Banhart, Sandra Coffey and Anthony Tucci for this special event, and we would be honored to have you there as well. The Elbo Room Bar has long been a family-friendly establishment, known for its welcoming atmosphere and timeless charm. Whether you're a long-time visitor or new to the bar, you'll find a familiar and inviting place that feels like a safe haven from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

As The Gnarly Gnome so perfectly described: "You might not know this bar, but it doesn’t take long after being bellied up to realize that it’s familiar in all the right ways. Tucked away like a hidden oasis in the middle of an ever-changing world around it, the Elbo Room feels like a safe little getaway from the chaos of day-to-day life."

Please join us in celebrating our rich history and exciting future. After the ribbon cutting, everyone is invited to join in with a Luau out back. We'll have food and games and more!

Go Green Rebate: ended 6/30/23

Industry Specific Safety Program: ends 6/30/24

Safety Council rebate: flat rebate of 3% capped at $5,000. No longer a 2% participation and 2% bonus.

EM Capping: ends 6/30/24

  • This does not apply to the 25% cap BWC implemented for the transition for MIRA to ACES.
  • Nor does it apply to the .99 construction cap

Transitional Work Bonus is being phased out.

  • Private Employers:  For the 2024 policy year the max rebate is 7% up to $25K. For the 2025 policy year the max rebate is 4% up to $25K. Program no longer available after 2025PY.
  • Public Employers:  For the 2025 policy year the max rebate will be 7% up to $25K. For the 2026 policy year the max rebate will be 4% up to $25K. Program no longer available after 2026PY.

Grow Ohio: ending 7/1/24. New employers will still have an opportunity to enroll in group outside of the regular enrollment window.

Lapse Free rebate: ending 6/30/25

Proposed changes:

  • Drug Free Safety Program/SUR: merging the 2 programs to reduce paperwork and employer confusion. Goal effective date is 1/1/25 for PEC employers and 7/1/25 for PA employers.
  • Proposed pilot program. If approved could begin with the 2025 policy year for PA and PEC employers.
  • Safety Council Plus: Safety council employers will be able to earn a 5% premium bonus for providing employer training as specified by BWC. This will be in addition to meeting the requirements for the 3% safety council rebate. The requirements for the additional 5% will be optional; employers can still complete the basic safety council requirements for the 3% rebate.
