Fairfield County Recognized Nationally for Excellence in Planning Initiatives

Fairfield County has received two Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo), recognizing outstanding efforts in county government innovation and services. Both awards were earned in the planning category, highlighting the county's commitment to strategic development and collaboration. Celebrating Independence Day With Fairfield County

Fairfield County Sheriff's Office, Health Department, and Job & Family Services came together in celebration for Lancaster's annual Fourth of July parade. It was a beautiful summer day as residents attended in full force and enjoyed festive floats and marching bands.



County departments were proudly represented, showcasing their dedication to serving our community. We extend our thanks to all participants and spectators for making this event memorable.

It's Lancaster Festival week and Aunie was excited to accompany new Maestro John Devlin as he toured the concert grounds and spoke about his hopes for the 2025 season.

Fairfield County Employees Volunteer at Big for a Day with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Ohio

Fairfield County employees had a blast volunteering to be a Big for a Day with BBBS of Southeastern Ohio! This monthly event is held for kids, also known as littles, who are on the waiting list for a Big Brother or Big Sister.

Located in Lancaster, the Veterans Service Commission plays a crucial role in serving the needs of local veterans and their families. They offer many valuable programs and support such as Benefit Claims Assistance, Advocacy and Representation, Information and Referral, Community Outreach and Education, Support for Families and Survivors, and Transportation to VA Healthcare appointments. Meet Deshawn Toney, Deputy Director of Economic and Workforce Development

Deshawn oversees the daily operation of the Fairfield County Workforce Center and the Career Readiness Program. This includes identifying the workforce needs of local employers and working with colleges to develop programs to meet those needs. It also involves working with the eight school districts in Fairfield County to help prepare their students for the workforce through pre-apprenticeship programs, junior high summer career camps, and managing five Career Navigators who help students with developing soft skills and connecting them with local employers to start their careers after graduation.
