The Fairfield County Workforce Center Celebrates 69 Graduates

Congratulations to 69 Fairfield County high school seniors who graduated at the Fairfield County Workforce Center's fourth annual Pre-Apprenticeship Graduation on May 15.

Annual Signing Day at The Fairfield County Workforce Center

The Fairfield County Workforce Center held a signing day for recent high school graduates who are beginning their careers with full-time employment. School superintendents, business owners, elected officials and college representatives joined more than 30 graduates from 8 Fairfield County schools as they signed with employers in the areas of carpentry, electric, HVAC and healthcare.

June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month

On June 11, Fairfield County Job and Family Services held it's annual Elder Abuse Awareness Breakfast to honor those who stand alongside JFS in safeguarding the elderly in our community. Attendees, including Commissioner Steve Davis, heard impactful presentations from several speakers, all focused on protecting the senior population.

Staff at JFS proudly wore purple to recognize Elder Abuse Awareness Month. This month serves as a vital reminder to raise awareness, encourage open conversations, and increase reporting of elder abuse - an often underreported issue. Meet Lori Hawk, Fairfield County Human Resources Officer 1/Risk Management

Lori is responsible for handling all Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) claims and damage to county vehicles, buildings, and property. In addition, she runs motor vehicle reports (MVR’s) on all new hires. She processes reimbursements, invoices for payment, and confirms the payments have cleared. Click here to read more!
