Spring has Sprung!

Spring is in the air and our tulips are in bloom! We have so much to look forward to as we emerge from winter and embark on a new season. There will be many opportunities for the community to come together in the coming months as we all prepare and hope for a return to “normal.”

As a supporter of Fairfield Medical Center’s (FMC) Community Heart Watch Program, Fairfield Federal continues to meet the requirements to be designated a “Heart Safe” business. We are eagerly awaiting the launch of the new Heart Safe Mobile Training Unit later this month, which will enable FMC to bring awareness to the program and to provide CPR training at community events.

Promoting homeownership in our community has always been part of Fairfield Federal’s mission since its founding in 1895. We are a proud sponsor of the new Habitat for Humanity house that is under construction on South Broad Street in Lancaster, and our Fairfield Federal work crew is looking forward to getting out of the office and getting our hands dirty by volunteering for a day on this project.

As a financial institution, promoting financial literacy has always been one of our key initiatives. Real Money. Real World. is a youth-focused financial literacy program offered by Ohio State University Extension in many of the county’s schools. Fairfield Federal volunteers have enjoyed participating in programs at Saint Mary’s, Amanda Middle School, Rushville Middle School, Fairfield Christian Academy, Thomas Ewing Junior High and General Sherman Junior High.

The World’s Largest Diaper Drive is back again this year with an even larger goal! Please help us support this cause by donating any size disposable diapers. You may drop off diapers at any of our offices from April 18 through May 6, 2022.

Looking ahead to summer, we are excited to announce the full return of Friday Night Bandstand and the Fairfield Federal Kids Zone which will be located in the gazebo during the concerts. For you folks in Pickerington, we are also pleased to continue our sponsorship of the Summer Music Series and Friday Night Flicks, which will be back in full swing.

So, as we embrace the warmer air and the change of seasons, we hope you will stop by any of our offices when life gives you a minute. We are always glad to see you.

Attention Fairfield Federal Customers: Downtown Lancaster Street Closure

Beginning Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, Broad Street will be closed to through traffic from Main Street to Wheeling Street. Access to our Broad Street customer parking lots will be maintained by entering Broad Street off of Wheeling. The drive through and ATM entry and exit points will remain open and will operate as normal.

Bruce Baughman began his career at Fairfield Federal over 50 years ago as a teller. He officially retired on March 2, 2022 as the Vice President and Director of Information Technology.

“It has been an honor and privilege to have spent 50 years of my professional life at Fairfield Federal. It’s a true testament to the company and its leadership,” said Bruce. “Watching the banking industry change over the years has been incredible. We started with ledger card posting machines and adding machines, and now most banking can be done on handheld smart phones!”

During his retirement, Bruce plans to live by the phrase, “Yesterday is history; tomorrow is a mystery; today is a gift, that is why they call it the present.” He looks forward to being with his grandchild, traveling, and playing golf.

Say Hi to Caitlin!

Having worked at Fairfield Federal since 2015, Caitlin is now a loan processor in the Loan Department. Beyond her job at Fairfield Federal, Caitlin is a Lancaster native and enjoys reading and gardening. Her favorite food is soup! She will tell you that her spirit animal is a Barn Owl and one item on her bucket list is to visit Ireland.
