It was challenging to choose just a few favorite images to represent all of the dynamic and successful community events and programming we experienced in 2017! The photos below represent best our unique and thriving community.
In May, the Fairmount Avenue Arts Crawl brought together local artisan vendors, performers, and neighbors, to mingle and celebrate the arts in the beautiful spring weather. In July, Fairmount CDC and Urban Consulate gathered with residents, business owners, and developers at Block Talk, where we discussed the balance between preservation and development at The Monkey & the Elephant Cafe. In August, we spent a
assembling and distributing planters along Fairmount Ave. with Keep Philadelphia Beautiful, Goose Island, and a group of amazing volunteers. In October, our board members celebrated Halloween with children and families from the neighborhood in the courtyard of Eastern State Penitentiary.
While our capacity for planning here at FCDC makes community engagement such as this possible, your participation is what ultimately makes these events memorable. Thanks for all you do for the neighborhood, and we'll see you for more neighborhood gatherings in 2018!
