High School Fall Play "The Dining Room"
Featured November 15 - 17
The Fairview Stagecrafters and International Thespian Troupe 8671 will present the fall play "The Dining Room" on the following dates and times in the Frank W. Barr Auditorium at Fairview High School:

November 15, 7 p.m.
November 16, 7 p.m.
November 17, 2 p.m.

More information and tickets are available for purchase online here.

The play is set in the dining room of a typical well-to-do household, the place where the family assembled daily for breakfast and dinner and for any and all special occasions. The action is comprised of a mosaic of interrelated scenes-some funny, some touching, some rueful-which, taken together, create an in-depth portrait of a vanishing species: the upper-middle-class WASP. The actors change roles, personalities and ages with virtuoso skill as they portray a wide variety of characters, from little boys to stern grandfathers, and from giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids. Each vignette introduces a new set of people and events; a father lectures his son on grammar and politics; a boy returns from boarding school to discover his mother's infidelity; a senile grandmother doesn't recognize her own sons at Christmas dinner; a daughter, her marriage a shambles, pleads futilely to return home, etc. Dovetailing swiftly and smoothly, the varied scenes coalesce, ultimately, into a theatrical experience of exceptional range, compassionate humor and abundant humanity.  From Dramatist Play Service Inc.

Construction Updates
The district facilities project, which began in spring of 2018, is nearly complete. The Parkview Early Education Center is undergoing major renovations and is scheduled to re-open in early January 2020. The Board of Education Offices will also move back to Parkview at that time. Lewis F. Mayer Middle School students and staff are enjoying new and updated classrooms, a new main office, and courtyard area. Fairview High School is in the final phase of construction, with the remaining to be completed by spring 2020, which includes the cafeteria, courtyard, and innovation center.
