710 Freeway, Summer Nights and more
The City Manager's update for the month of July is now online, including information about the City's response to the cancellation of the 710 Freeway extension project, a look at some recent graduates within the San Gabriel Police Department and information about a Playhouse grant.

Come experience San Gabriel's largest comic book and superhero block party this Thursday at the San Gabriel Village!

The event will include live music by home-grown band The Volcanics, costume contests for kids and adults, and convention style exhibits and vendors including comic book writers, illustrators and artists such as Javier Hernandez, Valeria Ontiveros and Eric Esquivel.
Join us for National Night Out on August 7
Celebrate the fight against crime at the Mission District on August 7 with an evening of food, music and fun from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Come watch demonstrations from our K9 team, learn more about various police departments and interact with members of the police department at our annual event.
Playhouse receives $3,500 grant
The Playhouse is happy to announce that they've been awarded a $3,500 grant from the Johanna Favrot Fund of the National Trust for Historic Preservation to support the second phase of the facade restoration project.

The second phase of the project focuses on the Playhouse's hand-painted decorative details, ornaments and accent glazing. To date, the Playhouse staff has raised $10,000 for a total goal of $36,225.

Learn more about coyotes on September 4
In an effort to address community concerns about coyote sightings in San Gabriel, the City will be hosting a coyote presentation at the September 4 City Council meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Featuring staff from Wildlife Emergency Services, the meeting will outline important information on how to address coyote sightings, including tips on how to coyote-proof your yard and how to haze coyotes safely and effectively. We encourage you to bring your questions and concerns about coyotes to the meeting.
