Lottery Requests during Shotgun

When submitting a Lottery Request for SHOTGUN ONLY courses (Balboa, Granada and Magellan) it is best to select your "Requested Details" as follows: Search Priority: By Time or By Course choose "By Course", desired time choose "11:00 a.m.", Earliest time choose "11:00 a.m." and the latest time choose "11:00 a.m."
When submitting a Lottery Request for NON-SHOTGUN courses [Coronado, Cortez, Desoto, Ponce De Leon and Isabella (Nina, Pinta or Santa Maria)], the system will assign the first available tee time that most closely matches the Request Details by time or by course and the earliest time and latest time based on the courses selected in "Course Selection".
If you would like to include BOTH SHOTGUN AND NON-SHOTGUN courses, be sure that 11:00 a.m. is between your Earliest time and Latest time.
When filling out your Annual Renewal form and choose to purchase your GHIN handicap, please complete the online GHIN form. You may print this form and send in to the POA office or email it to teetimes@hsvpoa.org

AGRONOMY

Turf grass is an important cropping system covering more than 39 million acres (~16 million hectares) in the United States (9). Synthetic pesticides — including fungicides, herbicides, insecticides and plant growth regulators — are important tools in managing turf landscapes. However, some of these management tools have been implicated in the decline of managed and wild pollinators. Often, the public perception that use of these control agents is linked to pollinator decline threatens future use of these tools and our ability to maintain functional, high-quality turf.

Extension and research entomologists from across the United States met in 2016 at the Summit for Protecting Pollinators in Turf to review the scientific literature on non-target impacts of pest management practices on pollinators in the turf grass landscape, with the goal of developing best management practices (BMPs) to protect pollinators, identify knowledge gaps, and prioritize future research needs. The working group identified the limited research that exists in turf landscapes, and prioritized areas where research is needed to conserve pollinators while balancing the needs for maintaining healthy, high-quality turf grass.
