ACCOMPANIED MEMBER GUEST

Now that spring is around the corner, we would like to remind everyone of our Accompanied Member Guest (AMG) policy.
You may sponsor up to 7 AMG’s per 1 member playing in a group. The member must play with his/her guests or this special rate does not apply. These tee times can be made up to 90 days in advance and must be booked through the golf department @ 501-922-2858. if you have more than 7 AMG's, you must contact the golf department and set up a prepaid package. By doing this, AMG rates will be applied to your entire group. You, as a member, will pay each day at the course.
Please contact us with any questions.

AGRONOMY

Pesticide use should be part of an overall pest management strategy that includes biological controls, cultural methods, pest monitoring, and other applicable practices, referred altogether as IPM. When a pesticide application is deemed necessary, its selection should be based on effectiveness, toxicity to non-target species, cost, site characteristics, and its solubility and persistence in the environment. Pesticides contain active ingredients (the component that targets the pest) and inert ingredients such as solvents, surfactants, and carriers. Both active and inert ingredients may be controlled or regulated by federal, state, and local laws because of environmental and health concerns.

INFO FOR LADIES INTERESTED IN A FRIDAY GOLF GROUP.

There are many new women golfers moving to The Village, and often, there are requests for information. The HSV WGA 9-Hole Women's League is welcoming new members who are interested in making new golfing friends and improving their game. A different 9-hole game is played each Friday with different members and every player has a chance to win regardless of handicap. Prizes are awarded at the Fall Luncheon. Membership to the league requires an established handicap, but there is no minimum handicap to play in this friendly group of gals. A handicap is easy to establish: 1) Apply for a Ghin Number through the POA website: https://www.explorethevillage.com/images/2021_ASGA_GHIN_Registration_110920.pdf 2) Enter scores after playing a minimum of 54 holes (six 9-holes or three 18 holes) from any regulation golf course. New Members are assigned a Big Sis to help them get acquainted with other members. They will be seated together at the 3/26 Spring Luncheon and play together in the 4/2 kick-off scramble when the league's season begins. This year, any member who brings in two or more new members will be entered into a drawing for special prizes which will be awarded at the Fall Luncheon. Please visit the league website: hsvwga9-hole.org to view schedules and be sure to click on “Mary's Corner” to get the latest message from our President, Mary Cupstid. Respond by comment or PM if interested - it's a great group and we'd love to welcome you to the league!
THE HSV SOCIAL LEAGUE

The HSV WGA Social League is holding a beginning of the season Welcome Event on Tuesday, March 23rd starting at 10:30 am at Cortez Pavilion. Returning members and others interested in joining are invited. Pastries and beverages will be served and door prizes will be awarded.
Women of all skill levels are invited to play 18 holes of golf (rotating through 7 courses) on Wednesdays, April through October. The first play date is April 7th.
Play your own game and you can even choose whether or not to keep score. No handicap required! Enjoy the camaraderie during and after your round. Many players stay for lunch. You can join anytime during the season and can choose which Wednesdays you want to play.

The membership form is available at www.hsvgasl.org or the through the POA league page. Look for the Member sign up tab on the top of the Social League website page. New members, as well as returning members, should complete a form online and send a check for $15.00, made out to WGA Social League, to Mary Cupstid at 40 Oviedo Way, HSV, AR 71909.

The Social League believes that how we play is not at important as having fun and making friends. This league is great for women new to HSV or women who want to play golf without any pressure. We look forward to meeting you on the course!!
The HSV Junior Golf Association needs volunteers to fill 2 important positions. First we need a person to work with clubs, cutting them down to junior sizes and regripping them. Second we need a person to recruit volunteers on Thursday's in June and July to go in golf carts with each junior group. We have lists from previous years to help. If you can help us please contact Jack Barry at 501-922-2502
