Letter from Robert
Sneaky Santa
Dear Friends,
A few years ago our family was out shopping together and we bought some items for a family in need. We went home and wrapped them up. We baked some cookies and made a couple of homemade Christmas cards and then drove to the home of the family. The children quietly placed the gifts on the front porch and then ran as fast as they could so we could speed away without being seen. It was a blast playing this version of “Sneaky Santa!”
As a pastor I get to see a lot of tragedy. I also get to see a lot of joy and generosity – often shared secretly with others. I love watching the faith community rise up and surround those who are struggling to support them and help them through a difficult spot. That is often more evident around Christmas when people are feeling a bit more generous.
Just this week I received a call from someone who wanted to help another family. “We have been so blessed and we want to share that with someone. Do you know of anyone that might not be able to provide Christmas for their kids? We want to help out!” As it turns out I had just heard of a family that had such a need. It is amazing to watch God at work through folks like you - bringing joy and hope in the midst of struggle.
How can you and your family play a little “Sneaky Santa” with someone in your life? Let this be a way of shining the light of Christ and sharing God’s love with someone who could use a little encouragement this season.
 To God be the Glory!
P.S. We have gotten a little closer to our 2018 PLEDGE GOAL of $1.45 Million !! We need your help to fully fund our 2018 budget! 299 family units have pledged nearly $1.31 MILLION to the ministry of DCPC in 2018.  There are still more than 250 families who have not pledged . IF YOU HAVE NOT YET SUBMITTED YOUR PLEDGE PLEASE DO SO TODAY??  PLEASE EMAIL Trish Jones at pjones@dcpc.org to give her your 2018 expected giving. We can reach our goal if everyone on the TEAM does their part! We can succeed with God’s help and your pledge!
