Mid-Week Chat with Fr. Tom
The St. James Choirs + Various Readers produced four "Mixed Multimedia Meditations" to be played as Holy Week unfolds.
The beautiful readings and songs will hopefully bring deep meaning during Holy Week. The first will open on Palm Sunday.

The second on Holy Thursday, third on Good Friday and fourth the Easter Vigil. These can be accessed through the St. James Youtube Channel.

Landon Cerny & Don Byrne have added beautiful photos and images of St. James for your reflection.
Holy Thursday
Except for the resurrection on Easter, Holy Thursday is possibly one of the most important, complex, and profound days of celebration in the Catholic Church. Holy Thursday celebrates the institution of the Eucharist as the true body and blood of Jesus Christ and the institution of the sacrament of the priesthood.

During the Last Supper, Jesus offers himself as the Passover sacrifice, the sacrificial lamb, and teaches that every ordained priest is to follow the same sacrifice in the exact same way. Christ also bids farewell to his followers and prophesizes that one of them will betray him and hand him over to the Roman soldiers.
Good Friday
It is the day when Christians commemorate Jesus Christ's crucifixion. So why is it called Good Friday?

According to the Bible, the son of God was flogged, ordered to carry the cross on which he would be crucified and then put to death. It's difficult to see what is "good" about it.

Easter Vigil & Easter Sunday
Jesus was crucified, died and was buried. On the 3rd day he arose and ascended into heaven.

What does Easter mean to you?

"Easter is a reminder that no matter what, God’s love offers me a new beginning." - Theresa

"Easter means hope, renewal, and new life in Christ!" - Deborah

"A fresh clean white canvas" ✝️ Beth

"Easter to me means time with family! Easter, Jesus’s resurrection, means new life in so many different ways. New life as in my sins are forgiven and I can start on fresh new path.
New life with the season of Spring and all the sights of growth around us, trees budding, flowers getting ready to bloom, grass getting greener.
New life with all the baby animals that are born in the spring during this Easter season. A trip to Govin’s Farm is a sweet reminder of all the new life happening during the Easter season." - Sheri
