What It's About
A compassionate, healthy, and holistic perspective on embodied living. Weaving together illuminating research, stories from her work as a therapist, and deeply personal narratives of healing from a life-threatening eating disorder, a near-fatal car accident, and chronic pain, McBride invites us to reclaim the wisdom of the body and to experience the wholeness that has been there all along.
Why I Recommend It
While this book isn't explicitly about faith, I do think the Church, generally speaking, has long told people that souls are what matter most, and not bodies. This book does a wonderful job of reminding us that God has gifted us with bodies for a reason, and those bodies deserve to be heard and loved, including as part of our faith journey.
