Faith Formation Classes
Parents, grandparents, and catechists,

Things seem to change every day nowadays! But we have enough information now to update you on some upcoming events...

Summer Joy LaMay
Children's Faith Formation
Upcoming Dates
  • Fridays in Lent: Supper & Stations is cancelled.
  • You can pray the Stations of the Cross as a family here.
  • We must continue to abstain from meat on Fridays.

  • April 4th First Communion Retreat: The retreat is cancelled. The bishop has dispensed this year's communicants from the obligation, so it will not be rescheduled. Please ensure your child keeps up with the lessons posted on our website, because it is vitally important that he/she understand that the Eucharist is not just a symbol. It is not just a day to dress up and take pictures. It is union with God Himself. As St. Jean-Marie Vianney said, "If we really understood the Mass, we would die of joy." And on another occasion, "There is nothing so great as the Eucharist. If God had something more precious, He would have given it to us.”

  • Easter: Unless something drastically changes soon, there will be no public Masses for Easter in any diocese in Colorado. This will also be the first Easter in history that public Mass will not be offered in the Vatican. Let us pray that these measures are effective in saving lives.

  • April 12th Easter Egg Hunt: The hunt is cancelled. Although your children will not be finding eggs, I hope that they do find joy in the resurrection of Our Lord.

  • June 8-12th Totus Tuus: The diocese has cancelled all Totus Tuus activities this year. Even though we will likely be back to normal by June, the training of the Totus Tuus missionaries takes time and we cannot know when this shut-down will be lifted and they would be able to be trained.

  • June 14th First Communion Mass: No changes have been made to our plans for First Communion Mass.
Lenten Offerings
This has been a very strange Lent. I know that with schools closed, many of you are juggling home schooling along with working from home. Please join me in taking each of these struggles to the Lord, as an offering for the sake of our pastor Fr. Michael and our bishop, Bp. Michael Sheridan.

O Jesus, I pray for your faithful and fervent priests;
for your unfaithful and tepid priests;
for your priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields;
for your tempted priests;
for your lonely and desolate priests;
for your young priests;
for your dying priests;
for the souls of your priests in purgatory.
But above all, I recommend to you the priests dearest to me:
the priest who baptized me;
the priests who absolved me from my sins;
the priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me your Body and Blood in Holy Communion;
the priests who taught and instructed me;
all the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way (especially …).
O Jesus, keep them all close to your heart,
and bless them abundantly in time and in eternity.
Amen.

-St. Therese of the Child Jesus
Keep Holy the Sabbath Day
Our Sunday and Solemnity Masses will be filmed and posted on both our facebook page and our website . Sunday Mass will be live streamed on Saturdays at 4:30pm. I have been filming these Masses and I think the sound quality has improved by degrees with each filming!

Please remember that Sunday is still the sabbath. For suggestions on how to keep holy the sabbath without being able to attend Mass, click here .
