Pastor Chris' Recommended Read

Part of the Reconciling In Christ process is becoming open and affirming to ALL, including people of other races. Camp Calumet hosts an online book discussion periodically on books about undoing racism, which the ELCA as a whole is committed to as well. Please consider participating. See more details below.

Join our next 'Read & Zoom' - The Sum of Us by Heather McGhee

During January and February [ and as a way of noting that February is Black History Month ] people are invited to read the book, *The Sum of Us* by Heather McGhee and then join together for a Zoom experience during which we can think, learn, and share. To register and receive your copy of the bookplease see below.

The author was interviewed by Trevor Noah of the Daily Show when the book was initially published. You may view that interview below.

We thank Roy Oullette for his faithful years of dedicated provision of coffee hour organization and refreshments.

As Roy resigns from this ministry to minister in other ways, we understand Coffee Hour will be different initially, and new leaders will be sought to orchestrate this important part of our hospitality. While reorganization comes together, please continue to donate food items as you are able. If you are interested in learning how to make the hot beverages and set out condiments, please stop by the kitchen on a Sunday. During this time of reorganizing, the following schedule is provided.

Small coffee hour means a smaller array of food items provided by anyone.

Potluck means a more intentional effort by all members to bring food items.

Feb 2 – 10:30 small coffee hour

3:30 pm Potluck Refreshments

Feb 9th – 10:30am Potluck Brunch & Congregational Conversation

Feb. 16th – 10:30 small coffee hour

Feb 22th - 10:30 small coffee hour

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

As God calls us to pray for one another, there is solace in community. The more we understand what we’re going through, the more we can comfort one another and share experiences. Pastor Chris encourages mutual prayer and care but without being intrusive. She would also like those making additions and deletions to the list to have the loved one’s permission to do so.

PASTOR CHRIS’ REQUEST

I am still learning names and family relationships, so please continue to wear your name tags – especially into Coffee Hour – even if we’ve had numerous conversations. Thank you so much!

The invitation to have one-to-one meetings is still offered too. Perhaps in the New Year, we can learn more about each other.
