Help Seed Ministry with Your Thrivent Action Card!

Did you know that your Thrivent Action Card can help bring meaningful ministry ideas to life? We're creating a list of Thrivent members and associate members who are willing to make their available Action Cards accessible for projects at Faith Lutheran Church when the need arises.

You don't need to be tech-savvy or know anything about grant writing. If a ministry opportunity comes up that could benefit from Action Card funding, we'll contact you and gladly help you through the simple application process. All you need is a willingness to share your card for a good cause!

Thrivent members are eligible for two $250 Action Cards each calendar year, while associate members are eligible for one $250 Action Card annually. These funds can provide valuable seed money for outreach projects, service opportunities, educational events, care ministries, and many other creative ideas that make a difference in our congregation and community.

If you'd like to be added to our contact list of potential Action Card sponsors, please contact the church office. There's no obligation to say yes every time—we simply want to know who might be available when an opportunity arises.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to bring Scripture to life on Sunday morning? Or perhaps you've been reading lessons for years and would enjoy sharpening your skills and sharing ideas with others.

Join us for a Lectors' Workshop immediately following worship on Sunday, June 28!

Whether you're a seasoned reader who can pronounce "Nebuchadnezzar" without breaking a sweat or someone who's secretly hoping to learn the difference between Habakkuk and a hiccup, this workshop is for you.

We'll explore practical tips for public reading, pacing, pronunciation, handling challenging biblical names, and ways to help God's Word connect with listeners. There will be opportunities to practice in a relaxed and supportive environment, ask questions, and pick up a few tricks that even experienced lectors may not have considered.

If you've ever thought about serving as a lector but felt nervous, this is the perfect chance to give it a try. No auditions. No pressure. Just learning, laughter, encouragement, and a shared commitment to helping Scripture be heard clearly and meaningfully.

Come discover that reading God's Word is less about having a perfect voice and more about sharing the story with confidence and care.



Current lectors, future lectors, and anyone interested in learning more are strongly encouraged to attend.

Some of the most meaningful ministry happens beyond the walls of the church building. For members who are homebound, in assisted living, recovering from illness, or simply unable to attend worship regularly, a friendly visit can be a powerful reminder that they are still an important part of our church family.

If you feel called to share Christ’s love through a ministry of presence, Pastor Chris would love to hear from you. Members of the visitation team may choose to bring Holy Communion, offer prayer, share in conversation, or simply provide a listening ear and compassionate companionship. You don’t have to do everything—whether your gift is quiet presence, encouragement, or spiritual support, there is a place for you in this ministry.

As God calls us to pray for one another, there is solace in community. The more we understand what we’re going through, the more we can comfort one another and share experiences. Pastor Chris encourages mutual prayer and care but without being intrusive. She would also like those making additions and deletions to the list to have the loved one’s permission to do so.
