MAY 18TH WE SAY THANK YOU TO

DEACON GWYNNE HOPKO

Having faithfully served in the Central CT Conference for 43 years - 16 years, 9 months at St. Andrew’s and Faith Lutheran of Bristol - Deacon Gwynne Hopko will be resigning at the end of May. She has devotedly blessed Faith Lutheran as an Interim Music Minister drawing three churches into oneness through music. We are all very grateful that Gwynne helped us through this transition providing direction to our voice and bell choirs, incorporating other musicians into our worship service and familiarizing us with hymnody and liturgical music that were unfamiliar to many of us.

Gwynne’s final Sunday with us will be on May 25th, but since that is a holiday weekend, we will take time on May 18th to honor her. Please stay after the service for refreshments and to share kind words and accolades with Gwynne. Brunch items will be welcomed.

The second part of our fellowship time will include our monthly Congregational Conversation.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

As God calls us to pray for one another, there is solace in community. The more we understand what we’re going through, the more we can comfort one another and share experiences. Pastor Chris encourages mutual prayer and care but without being intrusive. She would also like those making additions and deletions to the list to have the loved one’s permission to do so.
