The Big Idea of the Series: This four-week series examines the biblical understanding of generosity. By looking at the character of God, the good Samaritan, the widow’s offering, and Paul’s encouragement to give generously, we will see that God wants us to be generous in all areas of our life.
NOVEMBER 7th
Text: Psalm 112:4–5; 2 Corinthians 9:11–13
Big Idea of the Message: Generosity is a virtue that comes from the character of God and consists of giving to others without getting anything in return.
Application Point: We will be generous to others, just as God is generous to us.
NOVEMBER 14th
Text: Luke 10:30–35
Big Idea of the Message: The parable of the good Samaritan shows the importance of being generous with our time to serve others.
Application Point: We will take time to be generous and serve others in our church and community.
Text: Luke 21:1–4
Big Idea of the Message: The widow put the least in the offering, but Jesus demonstrates through her that generosity is not just for those who are wealthy or have it all together.
Application Point: We will be generous even with our small gifts, talents, and acts of service.
NOVEMBER 28th
Text: 2 Corinthians 9:1–12; Acts 4:32–35
Big Idea of the Message: Paul tells the church in Corinth to be generous in giving to others. God will take care of them.
Application Point: We will be generous in our financial giving, wherever God calls us to give.

This Sunday
Psalm 112:4-5
New Revised Standard Version
4 They rise in the darkness as a light for the upright;
they are gracious, merciful, and righteous.
5 It is well with those who deal generously and lend,
who conduct their affairs with justice.
*
2 Corinthians 9:11-13
New Revised Standard Version
11 You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us; 12 for the rendering of this ministry not only supplies the needs of the saints but also overflows with many thanksgivings to God. 13 Through the testing of this ministry you glorify God by your obedience to the confession of the gospel of Christ and by the generosity of your sharing with them and with all others,
