Faith and Wonder News

Family Ministry at Transfiguration Episcopal Church
August 13, 2020

Welcome to a new school year!

It’s going to be school year like no other and even though our students won’t be leaving the house for school, we can still celebrate the start of a new year. What are your family’s start of school traditions? How are they different this year? Our back to school shopping list includes slippers rather than gym shoes! Instead of slipping a note into her lunch box, I’m looking forward to spending lunchtime with Emily! Going back to school and staying home will be different, memorable and full of unexpected blessings.

Be sure to listen for a special back to school blessing during both services this Sunday. Have a wonderful start to the school year!

Wishing you a year full of learning and fun,

❤️ Michele
Joyful Noise Storytelling
A delightful ministry looking for storytellers

Every Sunday at our 9:15 am Joyful Noise service we gather on zoom to tell sacred stories, pray and sing songs. The stories are simple, just 3-5 minutes, and we are always looking for new voices to share our stories. No special skills are needed, just a desire to share a story. You can choose your own story or I can provide you with a story and script.

Do you have a favorite Bible story? Do you love telling or listening to stories? Are you interested in learning more about the art of storytelling? If you answered yes, become a Joyful Noise storyteller! If you love listening to stories but aren’t sure if you’re ready to tell them, would you be interested in learning more about storytelling? If there’s enough interest I will organize a storytelling workshop. Please contact me, michele@transfig-sm.org and let me know if you’re interested in learning more about the art of storytelling.

Faith and Wonder Walk
August 23, 5 pm
Waterdog Lake Park, Lyall Dr. Entrance

Faith Lab youth and families are invited to join us for a socially distanced walk at Waterdog Lake in Belmont. This is a great opportunity to appreciate the beauty of creation and the joy of seeing each other in person in a safe, healthy way. We will meet at the Lyall Drive entrance to the trail and walk up to the lake. It’s about a two mile hike to the lake and back on a wide trail. Dogs are welcome to come along as well. Bring along a water bottle and a snack and wear your face covering. RSVP to Michele, michele@transfig-sm.org.
Disco Bingo Party!

Join us Sunday, September 6 at 4:30 in the Faith Formation zoom room for fun and prizes. Everyone is welcome to play! RSVP is needed so we can get your lucky bingo cards to you.
