Faith is Real Part 34
The Two Parts of Faith:
Substance and Evidence
Heb.11:1-2 says "What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. (v 2) God gave his approval to people in days of old because of their faith. (v6) So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him."
What could I accomplish if I took God at His Word? Faith is the foundational principle of the Christian life. Believing who God is, what He says, what He has done, and what He will do defines the Kingdom of God.
Further more, faith is the essence of the Christian's day-to-day activity. Paul wrote: "And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to live in obedience to him. " (Col.2:6 NLT) How did you receive Christ? By faith. How then are you to walk in Him? By faith. In Scripture, walking refers to the way you conduct your everyday life. Victorious Christian living and spiritual maturity are determined by our belief in God.
Your faith has made you whole. One of the best chapters in the entire Bible on the subject of faith is the 11th chapter of Hebrews. We tend to think of faith as some mystical quality which belongs only in the realm of the super spiritual. But everybody walks by faith. It is the most basic operating principle of life. The question is, in what or whom do you believe? We are challenged to believe in God and take His Word seriously.
We can thank the Lord that His Word stands forever in Heaven. We can trust Him and His Word despite our changing feelings and circumstances.
