BACK TO SCHOOL (BACKPACK KIT) DRIVE FOR LOCAL CHILDREN IN NEED
Thanks to the generous people of Faith Lutheran and others, along with an award from Thrivent, at the time of this email, 84 backpack kits have been sponsored*! We are almost to our goal of providing backpack kits to 100 local children in need. The deadline is Sunday, July 18. A sample kit is on display in the narthex.

AN ENTIRE CASE OF 12 BACKPACK KITS = $192

You may sponsor one or more backpack kits by placing your donation in the offering plate at church, by mail, through the Give+ mobile app or online.
  • If paying through the app or online, please select "Back to School Drive-MHM".
  • If paying by check, please indicate backpack in the memo line.
NOTE: If you are in need of a backpack kit for your child, please contact the church office.

We will include a custom bookmark in each backpack with an invitation to Faith Lutheran and a prayer for the new school year. A sample is below.

*At the time the bulletin and announcements were printed for the service on Sunday, the total was 50, however, as of now it is 84!

ALTAR GUILD
Thank you to the current Altar Guild for their diligent service to setting up and cleaning the altar, including communion, every Sunday.

We are looking for 6 additional people who would like to join so we can set up a rotation of once per month.

If you would like to serve on Altar Guild, please contact Joan Searles or call the church office. Thank you for considering this essential role!
VISITATION & HOSPITALITY TEAM
Faith Lutheran has reactivated this team! Please contact the church office if:
 
  • You would like a communion visit, hospital or home visit, or to be contacted.
  • You know of someone who would appreciate receiving a card in the mail.
  • You would like to serve as a Eucharistic Minister, please contact the church office.
EMPTY INK CARTRIDGES COLLECTION
Please consider donating your empty ink cartridges to help the church and environment!

When we bring the cartridges to Staples we receive store credit from Staples to help offset office supply costs.

The ink collection bin is on the counter in Fellowship Hall or, you may drop off your cartridges in the office during the week.
ALTAR FLOWERS
ALTAR FLOWERS are a beautiful and meaningful way to honor/remember someone or a special occasion, while decorating our altar for worship.
 
When you purchase altar flowers, your name and dedication will be published in the bulletin on your selected Sunday and the flowers are yours to keep after the service!

Available upcoming dates are; August 1 and 29, the months of September, October, November 7, 14, and 21, and December 12, 19, and 26.
 
To make a dedication: At church, complete an 'Altar Flowers' envelope, include your payment, and place it in the offering plate; By mail, send payment with a note indicating your desired date and dedication; or CLICK HERE to order online. The cost is $60, which is for 2 vases. Please make checks payable to Faith Lutheran Church and indicate ‘altar flowers’ in the memo. Be sure to indicate the desired dedication date on the envelope or check memo line.
