Together Again
Greetings!
Green, lush gardens. Verdant, majestic trees. A babbling creek. Garden paths leading to an open-air gathering place under a large tent. A gentle breeze at the end of the day. Buffet tables with delicious offerings. A beautiful setting, as the people of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon greet one another and delight in being together again.

For the first time since 2019, a special evening of stories, music and friends highlighting the work of EMO will bring us together on Sept. 20 to celebrate our unique community of which you are a part.

As a reader of Faith Connect, you are not a passive recipient of the words we share each month, but an active, reflective observer of the scope of our response and service to communities throughout Oregon.

You are a special witness to the ways we collaborate with individuals and partner organizations who align their principles of faith and/or social values with EMO’s mission to “learn, serve, and advocate for justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.”

And most importantly, you are cordially invited to join us as we gather again on that special evening. We will also honor “Ecumenists of the Year” – Marilyn Keller, Rev. Dr. Mark Knutson and Rabbi Michael Cahana – chief petitioners of the successful campaign to put a gun control measure on Oregon’s November ballot; and “Emerging Leader” Taylor Stewart, founder of the Oregon Remembrance Project, which dedicated a historical marker on Juneteenth 2021 about the 1902 racial lynching of Alonzo Tucker in Coos Bay, Ore.

We welcome your sharing this invitation with your family, friends and faith community. And please consider hosting a reserved table for 10 people as a Bronze Sponsor.
