Last Wednesday night's “PrayGround” during the 6:30 PM Holden Evening Prayer service was a lot of fun. We will continue working on the nativity scene in the PrayGroud for the next two Wednesday nights. I hope to see you there! (Check out my video below advising you on what to do and not to do on Wednesdays during Advent!)
This week's FaithTrek reading from Isaiah talked about God’s peaceful kingdom and how prey and predators will get along and children will lead them. Here’s one fun activity from this week's Family Page: In God’s kingdom, a child will lead the peaceable animals. Pretend to be animals and let the youngest family member lead you. Your family can make this really fun! What animals will you pick to be?
The Noisy Offering this month is helping the ELCA Global Barnyard. Your cherub received a piggy bank to fill with pennies and other coins! Please return the banks on Christmas Eve to be donated to the Global Barnyard.
After the 10:45 AM worship service this Sunday there will be an All-Congregational Christmas-themed Talent Show, held as a fundraiser for the middle/high school summer accompaniment trips, as well as camp scholarships for all ages. There will be a free will offering for the chili and cinnamon rolls lunch. (I still can’t fathom the cinnamon roll idea! Where I come from, it’s cornbread with chili!) Plan to join us in the Activity Center at noon!
At 11:00 AM on Christmas Eve Day there will be a community service for ALL families - whether they have a church home or not! The service will be around 30 minutes in length and will include a “pop up” nativity play, with carols, followed by cookies and hot cocoa! When families and children arrive, they will be asked if they want to wear a costume for the nativity play. To make the experience welcoming and inviting for our new visitors and families, I’m asking if any of y’all want to bring your families to the service at 11:00 AM and join in. This also means I am asking you to return for the 3:30 PM Christmas Eve service as the cherubs are providing music during that service. (Masako will kill me if you don’t come to worship at 3:30 PM because of the 11:00 AM service - and nobody wants that!) Thank you to the Schawang family for already making the commitment to both! Please give it some thought in the days ahead.
I will need teachers in January for the winter session. Ms. Roxy will be having her baby soon and we will need to cover the Kindergarten and the 3-5 year old class. Here’s the link to sign up - FaithTrek Teacher Sign Up. Y’all are fabulous!!
